Books, laws, and official documents in Japan are divided into chapters called η«  (shō). You'll also see this kanji in ζ–‡η«  (writing) and 憲章 (charter).

Memory Trick

Imagine finishing one chapter of a book before turning the page to begin the next. That organized section helps you remember η«  means 'chapter.'
