In the 1500s, the tea master "Sen no Rikyū" transformed the Japanese tea ceremony into an art form. His influence became so great that even powerful warlords sought his advice. According to tradition, before taking his own life, Rikyū performed one final tea ceremony—making a simple cup of tea part of one of Japan's most famous historical stories.
