Interesting Fact
According to Japanese folklore, thunder wasn't caused by colliding air masses. It was caused by a "Raijin, God of Thunder," enthusiastically playing drums in the sky. Artists frequently depicted him beating giant drums across the sky, creating thunder and lightning with every strike.
