Interesting Fact
According to Japanese folklore, thunder wasn't caused by colliding air masses. It was caused by a "Raijin, God of Thunder," enthusiastically playing drums in the sky. Artists frequently depicted him beating giant drums across the sky, creating thunder and lightning with every strike.
Memory Trick
The top is rain (雨), and the bottom is a rice field (田). When a storm cloud forms above the field, lightning appears. That's 電.
