JLPT N5
Interesting Fact
One of Japan's most famous folktales, "Tsuru no Ongaeshi (The Grateful Crane)", tells the story of a man who rescues an injured crane. Later, a mysterious woman appears and becomes his wife. She weaves beautiful cloth but asks him never to watch her work. When curiosity gets the better of him, he discovers she is actually the crane he once saved. The story remains one of Japan's most beloved tales about marriage, trust, and keeping promises.
Memory Trick
Start with 大 (big person). Add a headband across the top and you get a hardworking husband ready for the day. That's 夫.
