🌳 Some Japanese bonsai trees have been cared for by multiple generations of the same family. A famous example is the Hiroshima survivor bonsai, a white pine that survived the 1945 atomic bombing and was later cared for by the Yamaki family. The tree had already been in the family for generations. Instead of simply planting a tree and watching it grow, bonsai culture involves carefully raising and shaping a living tree over decades. One person's work becomes another generation's responsibility.
